How it Works

Short-Term (Fewer than 5 sessions)

If you are looking for a short-term tutor, as in to study for an exam or quickly brush up on a topic, you may schedule sessions one by one and pay the hourly rate. Please allow ample time to schedule the sessions. Emailing me the night before a test will do no one any good.

Long-Term (5 sessions or more)

Clients looking for a long-term tutor can try my services first, with no obligation to pay if they are not satisfied. When you schedule five or more sessions, your first session will be free. In that initial meeting we will discuss your goals and develop a plan to reach them. We will begin work during this first meeting, so you can get an idea of my teaching ability, and I can gauge your skill level.

If you are unsatisfied with the first session and don't want to continue, you may cancel the remaining four sessions. Otherwise you will pay for the remaining four sessions and schedule them at your convenience. After five sessions you could continue to buy sessions in packages or pay week by week.

Tutoring sessions may be scheduled for a regular time each week, or they can be scheduled week by week. This is sometimes necessary for people who have changing work schedules or who only want a short-term tutor. Sessions may be 1, 1.5, or 2 hours long.

Tutoring sessions will continue until your goals are met or you want to end services. I am open to your feedback at all times, and will be happy to adjust the structure of the sessions according to how you want to be taught.

Pricing

One student

Base rate $50 /hr

Basic Packages:

5 one hour sessions - $225

10 one hour sessions - $400

Summer Package:

One hour-long session per week from May 25 - Aug 16 (12 sessions) - $450

Two Students

Base rate $60 /hr

Basic Packages:

5 one hour sessions - $275

10 one hour sessions - $500

Summer Package:

One hour-long session per week from May 25 - Aug 16 (12 sessions) - $570

Three Students

Base rate $70 /hr

Basic Packages:

5 one hour sessions - $325

10 one hour sessions - $600

Summer Package:

One hour-long session per week from May 25 - Aug 16 (12 sessions) - $690

I do not tutor groups larger than 3 except on a case by case basis. If tutoring multiple students, they must be working on the same subject.

I strongly encourage students to sign up for long-term tutoring. Though I will do one-time tutoring sessions, it is nearly impossible for a student to gain a real understanding of the subject in only one session, or even two or three.

Location

I tutor in Cincinnati, OH. While I prefer to tutor my students in person, I am also available for online tutoring sessions using Zoom.

I can tutor students in my home or within a five mile radius of my home. This can include their home or a public location like a library or coffee shop depending on the client's preference.

Monday: 1 - 6 pm

Tuesday: 9 - 4

Wednesday: Every other Wednesday 10-9

Thursday: 9-4

Friday: 9-4

Saturday: Unavailable

Sunday: Every other Sunday 10-5

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel a tutoring session, please give as much notice as possible. I understand that emergencies happen. I will not refund a canceled session that has already been paid for but I will be happy to reschedule it. If it can't be rescheduled that same week, I will add a make-up to your account which you can use later on for a free tutoring session when it is more convenient.

In the event of a no-show, you will still be responsible for payment of the scheduled time, or services may be terminated.
